New student study areas open in ECC. Three new study areas are available to Engineering students this Spring semester. Each work area is furnished with a 24“ flat-panel monitor, VGA cable (for laptop connection), a whiteboard, and both wireless and cable Internet access. The areas are designed to give small groups (3-8 students) a place to meet and study and to collaborate on group projects. Students may use the study areas on a first-come, first-serve basis, or by making a reservation . Stop by the ECC to check out the new space!
The ECC and Engineering Education Resource Center offered 16 “Engineering Computing Essentials” orientations during the 2 nd and 3 rd weeks of the Spring semester to over 450 students. The hands-on orientations were scheduled for students enrolled in 1331 and 11xx labs. Several hands-on general and UNIX sessions were also scheduled and open to all Engineering students.
These orientations are offered every semester – look for the Fall 2007 dates to be posted on the ECC and EERC websites.
